Procedures for Volunteers

Welcome

We are pleased to provide you with this opportunity to volunteer. We expect that your behavior and dress will be professional at all times. Please note the following standards.

1. Please read the dress code carefully. If you do not adhere to it you will be asked to go home to change.
2. If you are planning on attending for more than one day, we expect that you will provide us with a schedule of when you will be here. If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate a phone call to let us know. The number is 440-366-5993. We have a voice mail system when the office is closed.
3. We follow the rules of CONFIDENTIALITY which means we do not discuss our patients outside the confines of the office. You may not read patient's charts.
4. You will be expected to address all patients as Mr., Mrs., or Ms. If you are unsure of the title please ask a staff member. Please do not ask specific questions in front of the patient. You may ask general questions regarding equipment or exercise. Any other questions should be asked privately in the charting area.
5. If a patient door is closed, please do not disturb them.
6. Please complete the Volunteer Information Sheet, sign the confidentiality contract and log your hours in the volunteer book.
7. We encourage you to spend much of your time observing in the gym. Please feel free to ask as many questions you would like at appropriate times.
