Welcome To Jaworski Physical Therapy

Tip of the Month:

Start small -march in your chair, lift up onto your toes. Some movement is always better than none.

Staying fit and active - a guide to senior fitness

It's never too late to start a good exercise routine. Exercising can make you look and feel younger and stay active longer. It also lowers your risks of a variety of health conditions. Types of exercises you can do are cardio (walking, bicycling, swimming, water aerobics), strength training (weights, resistance bands, weight machines), and/or stretching exercises (Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi). Before you start a new exercise regimen however, you should consult with your doctor. You should then start slow - do 10 minutes a day or take up one class. Let exercising become a habit then you can start building up your time and routine. Also you should get support - exercise with a buddy or join a class. Exercise would seem less like a chore and it will be easier to stay motivated.

Just remember to start small and do exercises that you enjoy. If you feel unsteady or need help getting start - our therapists at JPT can do a comprehensive evaluation and design an exercise plan tailored for your needs.
